If you could pick just one word to illustrate God what would it be? HuffPo publishes the top 10 definitions of God submitted by its readers.
Huffington Post Religion asked their readers to pick just one word to describe God. Readers took the challenge and sent in over 2,000 entries through Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
HuffPost gathered the most common submissions and created a list that embodies the different viewpoints of God; spanning from “fiction” to “faith.”
Huffington Post said it was evident that there was “one word that came to mind” when thinking about God even with the reader’s different religious beliefs, as the number 1 answer was “love.”
However, some of the respondents disagreed, as three of the top ten answers were “fiction,” “nonexistent,” and “imaginary.”
almighty or infinite in power
literature that tells stories which are imagined
absence of existence
having a great deal of power or importance
not real: existing only in your mind or imagination
causing great surprise or sudden wonder
one that creates usually by bringing something new or original into being
feeling of awe; admiration, wonder or fear
something that is extremely or most important, all that exists
attraction, affection or emotional attachment to a person, people or thing
