Stefani’s return to a solo career is “God’s plan.”

After almost a ten-year hiatus, pop star Gwen Stefani has a made her comeback to the music stage. The former vocalist of rock group No Doubt, who also launched a solo career, went through a tumultuous time after her divorce from rockstar husband, Gavin Rossdale.

The divorce saw Gwen move away from the music scene for an extended period of time. However, the singer and songwriter finally returned with her latest release titled, This Is What the Truth Feels Like.  The new album will be Gwen’s 3rd solo studio album The Sweet Escape (2006) and Love. Angel. Music. Baby. (2004).

In her interview with The New York Times, the singer spoke of how the creative process behind the new album helped her overcome and deal with the agony of her breakup with Rossdale, whom she was married to for 13 years.”

According to Gwen, it took her six months to accept and deal with the aftermath of the divorce. Gwen explained that, in that time, all she did was stay indoors and keep praying.

Gwen, who hails from a Catholic background, stated that returning to the studio was akin to a spiritual experience. She further mentioned that creating music is what she believes to be God’s plan for her.

She told the New York Times that speaking about one’s spirituality in public is considered “weird” these days and that it even offends some people. However, Gwen felt that it was a personal journey and all her spiritual experiences, in terms of what she had seen or felt, were real to her.

She spoke of how magical it was for her to make music in the studio again and that it was something that everyone else there felt too.

Gwen feels that she owes God the credit for giving her the ability to bounce back and for putting the right people in her life to help her get back up again.

In an interview with Mix 104.1’s “Karson & Kennedy” morning show, Gwen exclaimed how incredible it was to see God working in her life and how he placed the right people in her path to help her through a rough patch.

Gwen Stefani has three sons from her marriage with Rossdale, who have also taken after their mother’s faith. According to Gwen, her eldest, named Kingston was the most “faithful and prayerful” of the three.

Fans on Twitter have been expressing their approval of Stefani’s acknowledgement of God in the new album.
