Samaritan’s Purse pulls the plug on ad account with Relevant magazine.

Christian publication, Relevant magazine, is not popular for its liberal views. However, the magazine has posted several times about Franklin Graham, an evangelist, taking a stance against his statements.

In April, Franklin Graham said “progressive” is just another word for those who favor socialism. Relevantmagazine’s writer had a different opinion about this statement.

According to the writer, it is quite common to encourage Christians to vote for those who have similar values. However, it isn’t right to state that people who have different views on politics are non-believers of God. When people make such statements, it only deepens the gap, which isn’t a good practice. It is always better to bridge the gap so that people can find common ground, despite their differences.

Graham also made a controversial remark in May, when he said people shouldn’t pay attention to the affair between Donald Trump and Stormy Daniels. Relevant pointed out that Graham was a hypocrite, as he criticized Bill Clinton for committing adultery.

Relevant published another article on the statements of Graham on Brett Kavanaugh, nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court.

Dr. Christine Blasey Ford accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault, causing him to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee to testify against these allegations. The psychology professor claimed Kavanaugh molested her at a party when they were teenagers.

When CBN News interviewed Graham, he expressed his disappointment over Kavanaugh getting scrutinized, despite the nominee’s outstanding record. According to Graham, the accusations were not relevant, as it happened close to 40 years ago.

He added that Kavanaugh didn’t commit a crime, as he walked away after Ford said no. He also posted on Facebook to support Brett Kavanaugh, hoping the Senate Judiciary Committee would bring an end to the process quickly.

Samaritan’s Purse Explains their Action

Relevant’s critical stance against Graham came at a cost as the evangelist’s charity, Samaritan’s Purse, brought their advertisement deal with Relevant magazine to a halt. The founder of the magazine, Cameron Strang, posted on Instagram that they lost a major advertiser, Samaritan's Purse.

Samaritan’s Purse told Faithwire about the decision to cut ties with the magazine. According to the spokesperson, the charity decides how to use their advertising budget every year. During this year’s meeting, the organization felt it was better to invest their resources in other places, as it was strategic for the charity.
