Hillary Clinton Impresses Pastor with Impromptu Scripture Talk

HIllary Clinton Bible Discussion

Rev Donnie Hunt was pleasantly surprised when Hillary Clinton suddenly sat down with him for an off-the-cuff discussion on the Scripture.

When Reverend Donnie Hunt entered the Main Street Bakery, he didn’t anticipate that he would end up speaking with a presidential candidate. Nose buried in Corinthians 13, he studied the Bible. He didn’t even notice when Hillary Clinton strolled in with her flock of press to “get some good stuff” from the bakery. However, she certainly noticed him as he studied. Though it wasn’t common for her to discuss religion, scripture and faith, she couldn’t resist asking him what he was studying in particular. When he answered, Clinton said she knew that one, and they sat down together to discuss it.

Clinton shared her religious history, discussing her views of the scripture. She found it commendable that he had continued to study the scripture in spite of his deep familiarity with it. She said it was “the most important thing to do,” adding that she had a “preacher friend” who emails her mini-sermons, devotionals and scriptures each day to read and interpret. Hillary Clinton called it the living word, adding that each time you take a look, you learn something new about it. The whole conversation thoroughly impressed the reverend, who had voted for her husband twice.

By the end of the chat, he was “100%” for Hillary Clinton’s presidency. He had never known her faith history, primarily because she rarely discusses it with anyone. When he was reached on the phone after their meeting, he said that he was happy to know that “someone running for president has that background.” She will likely rely heavily on her Christian faith in the coming campaign, especially in Christian-majority areas, such as South Carolina. After this example, maybe she can simply open discussions with religion to win over such regions.
