I Can Only Imagine is a movie that follows the song that goes by the same name and is based on the story behind Christian band MercyMe’s song. The song was written by Bart Millard and has risen in popularity to become the most played Christian single. The rights to the movie have been sold to Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions. The Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions are among the major leaders in films, tv series, and digital products. This time they decided to take the promising Christian jackpot from the hands of Jon and Andrew Erwin.

Jason Constantine, who is in charge of acquisitions and co-productions, gladly reported that Lionsgate would be in a better position to reach a bigger audience. The film will feature starring Dennis Quaid, Cloris Leachman, and Trace Adkins amongst other actors. The Erwin brothers have worked hard to produce three other films including the October Baby, Woodlawn, and Mom’s Night Out. Looking back, the brothers have made a fortune in the market since Woodlawn alone hit $4 million at debut and a final total of $14 million after the domestic sale by PureFlix. The transaction is a done deal which is now only waiting for its release to theaters in early March next year.
