Today the Obama Administration announced a new accommodation affecting religious groups who oppose access to oral contraceptives.
The new plan instructs the non-profit religious organizations who do not agree with the birth control coverage to contact the Department of Health and Human Services. Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell issued a statement: “Today’s announcement reinforces our commitment to providing women with access to coverage for contraception, while respecting religious considerations raised by non-profit organizations and closely held for-profit companies.”
