Joanna Gaines is an HGTV designer and Fixer Upper show host, a wife to Chip and a mother to four children.  She is a Christian who confesses to hearing from God and trusting in Him. Together with her husband, they spoke to Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and said that they have a commitment as a family to put God first a principle they grew up with. The Fixer Upper has brought about a lot of impact on their faith through the show and this has surprised them by the rich feedback they have received. She grew up with great friends and had a great childhood and she remembers God saying to her that He has a calling for her and she is going to have a platform one day. She, however, had her insecurities and shame because she felt that not everyone was like her hence she didn’t know what God meant at that moment. God also said that there will come a time that He will say that she has to go and He’ll need her to step out and go. She got married and opened Magnolia Market when she was pregnant with her second child, but God was saying that she needs to be home to raise her children. When they were closing the shop she cried because she felt that it was the end of her dream, but God was saying clearly that if she trusts Him with her dreams He will take Magnolia further than she could ever dream. She heard it, felt peaceful about it and walked away.

Joanna says that knowing the word of God and remembering His goodness is what made her trust in God. She read the word and God taught her to trust in Him even when nothing had been fulfilled. She cultivated on her faith, trusted in God and this brought peace in her circumstances. “I look back and I go, ‘God, your promise that you spoke years ago, I’m now seeing. I trusted you with my dream and you took it far beyond what I ever could have dreamed or imagined.’”

They opened their Magnolia shop, which sells furniture and home decor, in Waco, Texas. She looks back and sees the promise God spoke years ago. She trusted Him with her dream and He’s taken it far beyond what she could ever dream or imagined. She says that she believes that God has big plans for her and also for you, but the enemy always knows where to hit, just below the belt. Let God come and speak into your life, and His father says “this is what I have for you”. What is important is not believing in lies, but fixing our eyes on Jesus and walking in truth.

Apart from owning Magnolia Market and directing a TV show Upper Fixer which shows home renovation projects, she co-owns Magnolia House a bed and Breakfast house and she is planning on opening a bakery.
