1. Scope
This page applies only to a WRN feature that qualifies as an intermediary/hosting service because WRN stores information supplied by a recipient of the service at that recipient’s request, such as a public comment or user-submission feature. It does not treat WRN’s own editorial journalism as third-party hosted content.
2. Point of contact
Digital Services Act and illegal-content notices relating to an applicable WRN user-content feature may be sent electronically to wreligionnews@gmail.com. Communications may be made in English or Spanish.
3. Notices concerning illegal content
A notice should identify the exact content concerned, preferably with the URL or another precise electronic location; explain the reasons why the notifier considers the information illegal; provide supporting information where reasonably available; provide the notifier’s contact information where required by law; and include the good-faith statement required by the Digital Services Act where applicable.
WRN will assess sufficiently precise and adequately substantiated notices in a timely, diligent, non-arbitrary and objective manner. A notice does not by itself establish that content is illegal.
4. Moderation decisions
Where the DSA requires a statement of reasons for restricting user-supplied information or an account, the affected recipient will be informed of the material facts and circumstances, the legal or terms-based ground, the nature and duration of the restriction, any material use of automated means, and available redress mechanisms to the extent required by law.
5. Internal complaints and other redress
Where a particular WRN service is subject to the DSA’s internal complaint-handling requirements, the Foundation will provide the mechanism required by the Regulation. Any statutory exemption for micro or small enterprises will be assessed from the Foundation’s actual status and the specific provision rather than assumed.
6. Competent authorities
Nothing in this procedure limits rights to contact a competent court or authority. Spain’s Digital Services Coordinator is the Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia (CNMC).
7. Important distinction
The DSA regulates intermediary services. This policy therefore avoids presenting obligations designed for hosting or online-platform services as if they automatically governed every article that WRN publishes under its own editorial responsibility.
