World Religion News (“WRN”) is published and operated by the Foundation identified above.
2. Nature and purpose of WRN
WRN is a non-commercial, public-interest news and information service operated as part of the Foundation’s activities for the benefit of society at large. Access to WRN is free of charge. The Foundation does not derive commercial income from the website.
WRN publishes news, analysis, interviews, commentary and educational information concerning religion, freedom of religion or belief, ethics, culture, society and related matters of public interest.
The expression “public-interest service” in these Terms describes WRN’s mission; it is not a claim that WRN has the statutory status of a public-service broadcaster or another publicly mandated media body.
3. Editorial responsibility
Editorial responsibility for WRN rests with the Foundation and the editors designated for the publication. Opinion and guest commentary represent the views of the identified author unless expressly stated otherwise.
4. Use of the website
You may access and use WRN for lawful informational purposes. You must not attempt to interfere with the security or operation of the website, introduce malicious code, circumvent access controls, impersonate another person for unlawful purposes, or use the website in a way that violates applicable law.
5. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise indicated, original WRN articles, design elements, photographs, illustrations and other original materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property law and belong to the Foundation, WRN or the relevant rights holder. Nothing in these Terms limits statutory rights such as lawful quotation, criticism, review, reporting, research or other exceptions and limitations recognised by applicable law.
Systematic republication, commercial exploitation or presentation of WRN material as another publisher’s original work is not permitted without an applicable legal basis or permission.
6. Third-party material and links
WRN may quote, link to, embed or reproduce third-party material where permitted by licence, authorisation or applicable law. External links are normally provided for information or attribution and do not by themselves imply endorsement.
User-submitted public content
Where WRN offers comments or another feature through which users submit information for public dissemination, users remain responsible for what they submit and must not submit illegal material, infringements of intellectual-property or privacy rights, unlawful threats, unlawful hate content, impersonation intended to deceive, malware, fraud, spam or other unlawful material. WRN may moderate such content under these Terms and applicable law. The separate Report Illegal Content & DSA Information page explains the notice channel and any Digital Services Act procedures applicable to that feature.
7. Corrections and rights relating to published information
Requests concerning factual corrections, the Spanish statutory right of rectification, or updating of digital-media information should be handled under WRN’s Editorial Standards & Corrections policy. Nothing in these Terms limits rights granted by Organic Law 2/1984 or Articles 85 and 86 of Organic Law 3/2018 where they apply.
8. Artificial intelligence
WRN may use artificial-intelligence tools in editorial or production workflows. The Foundation retains editorial responsibility for material it publishes. Where the EU Artificial Intelligence Act or another applicable rule requires disclosure of artificially generated or manipulated content, WRN will provide the required disclosure. Further details appear in the AI Transparency Policy.
9. Availability and liability
WRN may correct, update, reorganise or withdraw website features or content for legitimate editorial, technical, security or legal reasons. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by mandatory law.
10. Applicable law
The operation of WRN by the Foundation is governed by applicable Spanish law and directly applicable European Union law. Nothing in these Terms removes mandatory rights or jurisdictional protections granted by law.
