“Wake Up! Go! Go! Forward!” is the lead single off the new Pope Francis album
That’s right. Following his groundbreaking and powerful visit to the United States, where the Pope visited Washington, D.C., New York City, and Philadelphia, it was announced that Pope Francis will be dropping a new album on November 27th titled “Wake Up!”, Rolling Stone reported.
Wake Up! is a collaboration with Believe Digital and artistic director Don Giulio Neroni, who has collaborated with the previous two Popes, John Paul II and Benedict XVI on albums that were released to the public. Though with the advent of social media, online streaming, and the singular popularity of Pope Francis and his message, Wake Up! is expected to easily be the most popular album ever released by a Pope.
Filled with pop rock music, instrumental tracks, and many of Pope Francis’ most famous addresses to live audiences, Wake Up! is masterfully edited to create an experience for the listener, confirmed believer or curious secularist alike. Pope Francis speaks several languages on the album, giving it an even more global feel, with the Pope spreading his messages Italian, English, Spanish, and Portuguese over the 11 track album.
Along with a global language reach, the music to be featured on Wake Up! also caters to the varying cultures and musical genre preferences of many of Pope Francis’ fellow Catholics across the world. The album has tracks that feature standard rock and pop music, but there is also Latin music, as well as very traditional Gregorian chants, sure to be appealing to nearly all of the over 1.2 billion Roman Catholics in the world.
The first single from Wake Up! is the aptly named “Wake Up! Go! Go! Forward!”, and is Pope Francis’ spirited and exciting call to action for his fellow Catholics, including a backtrack featuring upbeat rock and pop melodies and rhythms. The first single has been played over 785,000 times on Soundcloud, and can be downloaded and listened to early on iTunes when you pre-order the album.
Funny, cause "Wake Up! Go! Go! Forward!" is exactly what I scream at traffic lights. http://t.co/4ZphQpsd2j

Pope Francis’ message of love, compassion, and care for the rest of the world and the planet itself has inspired hundreds of millions of people across the planet, and his momentum doesn’t seem to be slowing down. With over 7.47 million followers on Twitter (@Pontifex), his messages are more influential than ever, and he himself, is a more influential Pope than there has ever been in the world.
With the world listening to every word that Pope Francis utters these days, it seems as if now we’ll all be able to listen to him differently. That is, with contemporary music playing underneath him.
