Franklin Graham shows his hypocrisy

In a recent interview with the Associated Press evangelist Franklin Graham said the scandal involving Stormy Daniels and President Donald Trump was “nobody’s business.” He completely overlooked glaring facts like Trump's lawyer paying hush money to the adult film actress to cover up the fact that he cheated on his wife (third wife then) after she gave birth to his fifth child. Graham believes Trump should not be criticized for this as he was chosen by God to the U.S presidential position.

Critics have termed Graham's viewpoint as a hypocritical one. More so as he challenged President Barack Obama's faith as the former U.S. president has a Muslim father.

To a third-party observer, Graham's views are incredulous. He explained away the many faults of Trump as these events happened many years back. The evangelist continued, saying the country is facing other issues which are more important than the personal life of its current president. Graham said these things should be dealt with only by the president and his wife. He added in the same vein that the former Republican leadership should not have gone after President Clinton’s personal life.

The evangelist added his viewpoint when it came to the Stormy Daniels affair. According to Graham, “This stuff happened 12 years ago. This isn’t behavior that has taken place since he’s been president.” He admitted that time does not absolve Trump but “the country knew the kind of person he was back then and they still made the decision to make him the president of the United States."

Graham's hypocrisy drips from his every word. The evangelist disregards Trump's adultery while he is hawkish on matters of gay marriages or single women trying to get an abortion.

Graham was wrong or he intentionally skipped the fact that Trump is still corrupt. The principal reason of his administration bumping from one scandal to another is due to the decisions made by him after and even during his presidential campaign. His policies have hurt the poor and broken up families.
