Sanatana Dharma Europe Welcomes ‘The Hare Krishna Project’ as Institutional Member and Appoints Author Narada das to Advisory Board

BRUSSELS / LONDONSanatana Dharma Europe (SDE), the independent interlocutor representing the interests and civic voice of over 2.1 million Hindus across the European Union, is proud to formally announce that UK-based initiative The Hare Krishna Project has officially joined SDE as an institutional member organization as of 6th August 2026.

Rooted in the authentic Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition, The Hare Krishna Project is a UK-based national initiative dedicated to sharing Krishna Consciousness with new audiences, organizing kirtans, public festivals, and promoting educational literature across Britain. In addition to joining as a member body, the project’s founder and prominent British author, journalist, and broadcaster, Narada das (Nathan Hartley), has accepted an appointment to the SDE Advisory Board, chaired by Pandit Krishna Kripa Dasa Ji.

“We are deeply honored to welcome The Hare Krishna Project into our continental family,” stated Swami Bhairavananda Saraswati, Executive Director of Sanatana Dharma Europe. “Narada das Ji and his team bring profound devotion, spiritual integrity, and tireless energy to sharing the transcendental heritage of Sanatana Dharma. Their inclusion reinforces SDE’s mission to unite diverse authentic traditions -from Smartism and Dashanami monastics to Gaudiya Vaishnavism -under a unified, dignified, and accredited European framework.

Strengthening Continental Representation & Cultural Heritage

As SDE prepares for key European initiatives – including diplomatic engagement with EU institutions under Article 17 TFEU and planning the upcoming 2026 Diwali celebration at the European Parliament – the onboarding of The Hare Krishna Project marks a vital expansion into the UK and broader European Vaishnava footprint.

Speaking on the alliance, Narada das, author of The Hare Krishnas in Britain (2021) and Black Magic, Booze and Bhakti (2024), expressed enthusiasm for unified European action:

“It is a privilege for The Hare Krishna Project to join Sanatana Dharma Europe and support its mission of independent, dignified representation for Hindus across Europe. We look forward to contributing to mutual trust, shared spiritual integrity, and common action across the continent.”

Key Objectives of the Collaboration

  • Institutional Inclusion: Providing Gaudiya Vaishnava perspectives within European interfaith dialogue and policy platforms.
  • Cultural & Educational Outreach: Supporting continental spiritual festivals, kirtan events, and literature distribution.
  • Advisory Leadership: Contributing strategic oversight via Narada das’s appointment to the SDE Advisory Board alongside European Hindu leaders.
