Persecuted Christians speak at the U.S. State Department’s Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom
The U.S. State Department held the largest human rights event they’ve ever held[/tweetit] last week. Thirty people were invited to share their or their loved ones stories of religious persecution. Let’s take a look at ten Christian survivors from ten nations and their stories.

China – Law enforcement raided the Three Living Stone Church and placed Pastor Su Tifan under administrative detention on December 9, 2015.
Cuba – The current pastor of the Iglesia Bautista de Waldorf, Reverend Mario Félix Lleonart Barroso planted as well as pastored multiple Baptist Churches in the province of Villa Clara and Havana. He was harassed, detained, and arrested several times because of his faith activities. His wife, Yoaxis, his two daughters and he sought asylum in the United States. They entered the United States on September 11, 2016.
Eritrea – Demiana Kamal Youssef Shehata Hanna is a survivor victim. She survived the November 2, 2018 attack in which armed assailants attacked multiple buses which were transporting Coptic pilgrims.
Malaysia – Pastor Raymond Koh was kidnapped 15 men and three black SUVs on in February 2017. There has been no proof that he’s alive since.
Iraq – Father Thabet Habib Yousef made sure everyone ran when ISIS came and that his congregation was taken care of.
Nigeria – Esther was taken captive by Boko Haram for more than three years. She witnessed terrible things. Initially, she was shaken up by the public’s remarks. However, she has now become stronger and ignores the public.
North Korea – Ill Yong Joo defected from North Korea in 2008 when he was 12. He and is family have settled in South Korea. South Korean radio was one of the motivating factors for their escape.
Sudan – Meriam Yahia Ibrahim was charged with adultery and apostate in May 2014 because she married a Christian man. She now lives in the U.S.
Turkey – Pastor Andrew was imprisoned on false charges without a trial until his release in October 2018.
Vietnam – Pastor A Ga fled to Thailand with his family in 2014. He and his family resettled in the U.S. as refugees in September 2018.
