Christmas is a joyous time for Christians all around the world.

People’s faces shine with excitement on Christmas. Decorations and adornments can be seen all around.

An Ahmadi Muslim’s Message on Christmas[/tweetthis]

Although I do not celebrate Christmas, as an Ahmadi Muslim I believe in respect for all the traditions, cultures and beliefs. I believe in Jesus (peace be on him) as a prophet of God sent in the modern day Palestine. God says in the Holy Qur’an, “And We caused Jesus, son of Mary, to follow in their footsteps, fulfilling that which was revealed before him in the Torah; and We gave him the Gospel which contained guidance and light, fulfilling that which was revealed before in the Torah, and a guidance and an admonition for the God-fearing” (5:47). This tells us how God has given the Holy Scripture as guidance for our respective religions. Jesus’ (pboh) mission was the same as that of all other prophets; they guided people on whatever God directed them to do. Jesus said: “Surely, God is my Lord, and your Lord. So worship Him alone; this is the right path” (Quran, 43:64).

Mary (peace be on her) was pious, righteous, and an example for others. An entire chapter (19) of the Holy Qur’an is named after her.

Regardless of the beliefs and any differences we may hold with each other, we should love all our fellow beings for whatever they are.
