On Adam Carolla’s podcast, Lord of The Rings actor John Rhys-Davies declares “We have lost our moral compass completely, and, unless we find it, we’re going to lose our civilization.”
John Rhys-Davies is well known for delivering lines in The Lord of the Rings as the character Gimli and the Indian Jones franchise as Sallah, but he recently delivered some powerful words on Adam Carolla’s podcast about what he finds troubling in the modern world.
“We have lost our moral compass completely, and, unless we find it, we’re going to lose our civilization,” he told Carolla, referring to what he perceives the western world’s obedience to political correctness and fear of “being judgmental,” said The Hollywood Reporter.
Rhys-Davies went on to say that every other generation that has come before us has made a point to chase what T.S. Eliot called “the common pursuit of true judgement.” In other words, they decided what was good, what was evil, and acted accordingly.
“It’s an age when politicians don’t actually say what they believe” because “they are afraid of being judged as being partisan.”

Rhys-Davies also accused the United States and his home country of Wales of standing by as Christians in the Middle East and Africa are being “enslaved and killed” because of their beliefs, reports Breitbart.com.
These comments should find a large audience, as Carolla’s podcast has been recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the podcast most listened to in the world.
While Carolla joked that had our modern attitudes existed during World War II, we wouldn’t have intervened against Germany for fear of prejudicial treatment of the Nazis, Rhys-Davies more seriously stated that he thought the days of Christianity in Western Europe were over.
He also expressed concern about the influence and dangers of radical Islam in modern society. “Heaven forbid we should criticize people who, after all, share a different ‘value system.’”
