There are over 6 billion Bibles in existence on Earth. All are (obviously) made of paper and are in varying states of decay. Ripped and torn pages, stains, waterlogged. This one is different.
The Forever Bible aims to change that. A Kickstarter campaign has been launched touting a waterproof, dirt-proof, tear-proof and “virtually indestructible” Bible.
Environmentally friendly nanotechnology is being used to create this Bible. You can still write in it and highlight it. Spill something on it and it just wipes right off. It even floats if you drop it in water. The synthetic paper material is claimed to be 24 times stronger than paper.
The Forever Bible comes in 5 different cover choices ranging from $40-60.
At the time of publishing, the Kickstarter has over 150 backers and has raised over $9,000 with 32 days left to go.
It will be interesting to see how this technology is applied to other products to reduce one’s carbon footprint. Indestructible reusable grocery bags, anyone?
