Spoke to them of “Adversary” in Las Vegas
President Russell M. Nelson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recently spoke to millennials in Las Vegas. He urged them to keep away from temptations from “the adversary.” He began his address by explaining how the necessities we need to survive are twisted by the adversary to tempt us. The temptations used by the adversary include food, drink, and pre-marital relationships.

The prophet gave the group of young adults a parable, “your ultimate safety in this life lies in never taking the first enticing step toward going where you should not go and doing what you should not do.” He explained how the adversary (Satan) uses this opportunity to tempt us through our appetites.
President Nelson went on further by telling the group of young adults to strive to get a life purpose reinforced by personal identity. He also advised them to couple the above by mastering the divine laws. President Nelson also told the millennials to remember that they were direct children of God.
Sister Nelson, President Nelson’s wife, also spoke at the gathering in Las Vegas. She advised the gathering to establish some self-independence and stop comparing themselves to others. Sister Nelson told the gathering to embrace talking to the Lord and letting Him in on your plans. She explained that a closer relationship with God makes it easier for Him to help them. President Nelson also reinforced this in his address by saying “One of the most important things you need to learn in life is to know who you really are. Know that you are an elect son or daughter of God, created in His very image.”
President Nelson recently succeeded the late Thomas S. Monson as “prophet, seer and revelator” of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His talk on Saturday was a chance for him to advice the millennials on joyous living and God’s laws.
