The bible helps us endure a lot and is an important fixture in our day to day lives. This is highlighted by the fact that it is the most translated book in the world. With advancing technological times, it was made into a mobile app. A common version is the You Version. This free mobile app has just crossed the three hundred million downloads threshold. The app offers the Bible in close to two thousand languages and hopes to reach 99% of the world’s languages in 2040.

According to a brief study on the You Version numbers, Bible app users shared verses, highlighted, bookmarked and noted them a total of 1.7 billion times. These attributes also made it easier to trace the most referred to the verse in 2017. The verse was Joshua 1:9 which reads “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

The second most popular verse was Jeremiah 29:11 which reads “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Romans 12:2 came in third. It reads, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

These numbers also allowed the company to see the increase in downloads as compared to 2016. The You Version mobile app company hopes to surpass any standards it set in 2017 this year.
