The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is looking for actors for their new series of videos based on the Book of Mormon.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is creating a set of videos based on the Book of Mormon. Filming is set to being in June 2017, and the Church is looking for actors. The five-year project will be filmed in Goshen, Utah and in other locations in North America.

Elder Larry R. Lawrence, a General Authority Seventy, said "These Book of Mormon videos will have the same purpose as the Book of Mormon itself — to bring people closer to Jesus Christ." Elder Lawrence believes the series will be crucial in building bridges to understand God, thereby changing hearts and inspiring people to lead holy lives, grounded in strong Christian values.
The LDS Church reported, “The Book of Mormon videos will be used in Church classrooms, in missionary work and in Latter-day Saint homes for personal and family viewing. The video footage will also be available to Latter-day Saints and those of other faiths interested in using video and image assets for various noncommercial projects.”
The LDS Church has already made a series of videos based on the Bible. The videos have gained popularity all over the world and have already been viewed millions of times. Translated into 10 languages, the Bible videos are used by a number of denominations because the dialogues are taken mainly from the King James Version, which is the most widely used version of the Bible in Christianity, except by Catholic traditions.

The Book of Mormon is a set of religious narratives by prophets who lived on the American continent from approximately 2200 BC to 421 AD. These narratives were revealed to Joseph Smith, the founder of the Mormon Church. For the Mormons, the real Christianity is based on a joint tradition of Biblical narratives and these American narratives.
The first video to be released will be on Nephi, the author of the Book of Mormons first two books and will be released in 2018.
