Dr. Seyed Mostafa Azmayesh

Dr. Seyed Mostafa Azmayesh, the founder of the International Organisation to Preserve Human Rights (IOPHR) and author of the book "New Researches on the Quran", is a researcher in the fields of law and theology, a jurist-scholar and expert on Islamic misconceptions and Quranic misinterpretations. He has studied Theology at the Sorbonne, History of Law at the Pantheon in Paris and Comparative Science of Islam and Christianity at the University of Lyon. He holds two doctorates as a result of his studies, and is a passionate contributor towards education and society. He is known for his research in the field of Islam, Gnosticism and Christianity and for his advocacy for Human Rights. His most notable efforts have been the push for reform within fundamentalist regimes, towards the adherence of human rights values. He has done exemplary work to counteract the increasing violent extremism taking place under the pretext of Islam in our society.
