Priest Jean Joseph Ecole

Born in France in 1920, Priest Ecole is Professor Emeritus at the Université Catholique d'Angers, in France, Honorary Research Engineer at CNRS (National Centre for Scientific Research in France), Visiting Professor at the Universities of Mannheim and Siegen in Germany, Doctor Honoris Causa from Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittemberg, Germany. He was deported to the concentration camps of Mauthausen (Melk) and Dachau. As a member of Resistance during WW2 in Europe, Priest Ecole also received the French Recognition of the Légion d'Honneur, and furthermore he holds the War Cross 39-45 (2 Palmes) and of the Medal of the Deportation.
