Christel Manning

Christel Manning spent the last decade researching the rise of the Nones in America. Her new book, Losing our Religion: How Unaffiliated Parents are Raising their Children, was published by NYU Press last fall and has been rated one of the top ten religion books of 2015. Manning is Professor of Religious Studies at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut where she has taught since 1995. In addition to many articles, she is the author of God Gave Us The Right, a book about feminism and conservative religion, and co-editor of Sex & Religion. A graduate of Tufts University, she holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She lives with her husband and daughter in New Haven, CT.
