On today’s ‘Good Morning America’ show actor John Travolta, while promoting his latest film, ‘The Forger’ and asked why Scientology has become such a target for critics, said, “Forty years for me, I’ve been part, and I’ve loved every minute of it and my family has done so well with it, it’s a beautiful thing for me.”
Travolta seemed to be nonplused by the question and proceeded to calmly and earnestly explain what his personal experience, a 40 year experience thus far, had been within the Church of Scientology and the Scientology religion.
He said…
“Mostly because it’s not understood. People need to take time and read a book, you know, that’s my advice, you could read ‘New Slant On Life,’ you could read ‘Dianetics,’ and if you really read it you’ll understand it, but unless you do, you’ll speculate and that’s a mistake to do that.”
Amy Robach next asked, “Why do you think it’s such a target though, for critics?”
Travolta responded…
Sometimes when something really works well, it becomes a target. You know, forty years for me, I’ve been part — and I’ve loved every minute of it, and my family has done so well with it, it’s a beautiful thing for me and I’ve saved lives with it. Saved my own life several times. Through the loss of my son, it helped me every step of the way for two years solid, and here I am talking to you because of it.”
