Scientology Budapest Headquarters Raid Ruled Illegal, Church Claims Victory

In a move that the Church of Scientology considers “a victory for religious freedom and human rights for the church,” the Central Court of Buda ruled that the raid and seizure done at its Budapest headquarters last year were “coercive and restrictive.”

The Hungarian court has declared that “a government raid last year at its Budapest headquarters was illegal and materials seized should be returned.”

The National Investigation Bureau performed the raid to the headquarters last October. The bureau has not commented on the court’s decision.
