James Franco was officially bar mitzvahed last weekend, but he’s celebrating with Hilarity for Charity on October 17.
Actor James Franco posted a photo to Instagram on Saturday, proudly shouting “I am now a MAN! Got Bar Mitzvahed tonight!!! Finally!”
Franco’s mother is Jewish.

The 37-year-old actor will celebrate his bar mitzvah at Seth and Laura Rogan’s Hilarity for Charity event on October 17 in Hollywood. Fans can win a chance to attend the event by donating to the charity in exchange for a number of chances to win.

The 4th annual event is a variety show with proceeds going towards Alzheimer’s research.
Seth Rogen, speaking to Vulture, said “The Rabbi wouldn’t do it on the actual event, so he did it last night at our friend’s house and we filmed it and we’ll show it at our fund-raiser.”
Miley Cyrus will be headlining the event.
