Holiday Gift Ideas Across Various Religions, By Alexandra Rogers

Candle-Hand-Pixabay There is much to dislike about the secular holiday season. In many cases, gifting now has the burden of obligation, of a required ritual, a duty discharged with little thought through an online catalog and a credit card, perhaps after a look at someone’s wish list or gift registry.

Nevertheless, there is magic in giving. Behold the wealth of holiday volunteers giving freely of their time and money to help others, to make them happy, give them a break from poverty and want, let them know someone does care. The soup kitchen volunteers, turkey donations, fun runs for charitable donations, the people of faith or no faith who race to help in earthquakes, wildfires and hurricanes, and who show up time and again when disaster strikes, or a neighbor needs a hand.

Well the holidays are upon us once again, and in the spirit of help, of finding something special for those one cares about, here are some gift ideas – some fun, some silly and some with religious significance.
