Chip and Joanna Gaines share their powerful testimony in a 7-minute clip from I Am Second.

Chip and Joanna Gaines, famous for their HGTV show Fixer Upper, are committed Christians and openly discuss their faith.

The couple shares how, even though they’re complete opposites, they have a strong relationship. Chip describes how he viewed God before He brought Joanna into his life as “wild. He was untamed. He was unruly. And I liked that.” Joanna thinks God brought her Chip to teach her how it’s like to follow Christ “a lot of things are going to push you to a place of discomfort. A lot of things are going to push you to a place of discomfort.”

Joanna recalls often how she had always followed the rules when she was younger, but when she met Chip she learned there is greater reward when you “take a step out in faith” and take risks.

I Am Second is a project that highlights struggles of everyday living and is meant to inspire others. It exists to give hope to those who are struggling and inspire them to keep moving forward.

The couple’s new book The Magnolia Story follows their journey from when they met to launching the number one show on HGTV.
