‘War Room’ is a Biblical box office smash that is changing lives.

It’s been four weeks since the national release of War Room and audiences have received this new Kendrick Brothers film with open arms. With a $3 million budget, the movie's success in the box office has managed to earn over $50 million thanks to big multitudes of audiences supporting it and personally being helped by the story that’s told.

The story told is that of Tony and Elizabeth Jordan, a married couple that live apparently good lives, but face marital problems, which are easy to relate to by almost any couple on Earth. The amazing part is how the film portrays the need for God's help, when human efforts are not enough to salvage a relationship that seems to keep digging a deeper hole in the ground with each day gone by.

The movie title is an interesting choice as well. Other films by Alex and Stephen Kendrick have featured titles like Courageous and Fireproof which both relate to the characters and a sense of overcoming difficulties in an obvious way. War Room is a more metaphorical title that speaks of the need to face every day's issues with the help of God, by praying and asking for His guidance, making a nice metaphor of intimate time with God being just as important as real world war room meetings, where the most important decisions during conflicts are taken.

If all of this wasn't enough to take notice of War Room, it has also been a hit in people's lives. The writers have told stories about people contacting them to thank them for the film. Both Christians who have found it helpful in their personal lives, as well as non-believers, have praised the film. There have been multiple accounts of members of the audience accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior after watching the movie. Other accounts include people praising God with songs right after leaving the movie theaters.

It is truth that movie critics have been harsh on War Room: as of September 24 it holds a Metacritic score of 26/100, but that is in no way an accurate measure for the film’s success. The box office and moviegoer testimonies are what really matter. The purpose of the film is helping people to get closer to God and make positive changes in their lives and that is the standard that should be used to judge its success and it has accomplished great things indeed.

It is clear that despite what a few critics may argue, War Room is helping people struggling with issues not limited to those portrayed in the film. It seems like the characters and their stories are humble enough so that movie goers can relate to them and experience a real change in their lives by it. They are clearly enjoying the movie, but also thinking about their own lives and making some changes as God speaks to them through this film, which has been a blessing for many.
