QB Derek Carr sends a heartfelt message to Raiders fans as his faith guides him through a season crushing injury.
The Oakland Raiders suffered a huge setback after their star quarterback, Derek Carr, went down with a season ending injury during the 33-25 Christmas Eve win over the Indianapolis Colts. His injury has devastated the Raiders, who have been performing phenomenally well this season. Carr’s injury could be the biggest block on their path to the Super Bowl.
After Season-Ending Injury Raiders QB Carr Says God “is the Ultimate Healer”[/tweetthis]
While the team’s spirits are at their lowest because of Carr’s injury, he seems to be very positive and hopeful. The secret behind his good spirits is his strong Christian beliefs. Carr insists that although he may have suffered a very serious injury, he keeps his faith pinned on a God who he called the “ultimate healer” in a Twitter post.
Carr has been one of this NFL Football season’s most spectacular players with a passer rating of 96.7, scoring an all new high in his ratings so far in his career. Carr finishes the season with 3,937 passing yards, 28 touchdown passes with only six interceptions, and his fans couldn’t have been more disappointed at his injury after such a phenomenal progress. A broken fibula suffered in an early fourth quarter sack by Colts linebacker Trent Cole herald a premature end to the MVP candidate’s season and scheduled for surgery.
Poor #DerekCarr. What a magical season Oakland is having too. Pray for a speedy recovery.

With both his own team and Cole obviously unhappy about the tragedy, it comes as a surprise that the he is so positive. In his post on Instagram, he says that just like many other things, this answer to this tragedy too is not with him. However, he strongly believes in God’s love and ability to heal and says he keeps his hopes aimed at that. Carr says that he is not worried at all and believes that he will be back in form soon. On Christmas day Carr sent his thanks everyone who has been praying for him with inspiration from Joshua 1:9 on twitter.

Two days later Carr tweeted an update on his surgery and his appreciation, “surgery couldn't have gone better! Received great news! Already started the recovery process! Thank you for all of your prayers as I heal up!"
Matt McGloin will be at the helm in the week 17 match up against the Denver Broncos and playoffs. With a win or tie Sunday, the Raiders claim the AFC West title and first-round bye.
