The Christian Post's senior editors have come out publicly in full force to ask its readers not to vote for Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee. According to the editors, they are forced to take this position as Trump is an “exceptionally bad” choice for the leadership. Incidentally, the billionaire businessman is a frontrunner to win the Republican nomination for the presidency.

Trump, for his part, has always claimed to represent evangelical’s interests, but many evangelicals disagree, claims The Christian Post. After describing itself as the most popular evangelical website in the U.S. and also in the wider world, the newspaper says that it is their moral responsibility to readers that they inform them Donald Trump does not represent in any way evangelicals' interests. It also claims that the Republican frontrunner is dangerous for the U.S. as a whole.

The editors have pointed out that although Trump has claimed himself to be a Christian, he was never known to request for the Lord's forgiveness. They said while God has attracted the faithful through the saving grace of Christ in a number of ways, there exists a number of non-negotiable actions required to be a Christian. One of them needs the “faithful” to repent of their sins and then follow Christ as the Lord and Savior. The paper noted that Trump never talks in this manner, even when urged to do so. To put it simply, his actions do not match his ways.

The article continues in the same vein and comes off as an attack on Trump. The editors described the Republican hopeful is a philanderer and a misogynist. His words demean minorities and women and his favored forms of communication are untruths, obscenities and insults. After admitting that Christians were guilty of all such sins, they said that unlike Trump, these sins are acknowledged and forgiveness is asked from God. Restitution is also asked for with help from the community of the believers and the Holy Spirit.

The article went on to say that Trump has promised a number of things that would be impossible for him to deliver. The editors pointed out the part all Americans should be afraid of: the willingness of Trump to ignore the authority of Congress and the U.S. Supreme Court. He has brushed aside even the U.S. Constitution in his many speeches. In closing, The Christian Post notes Trump’s admiration of Vladimir Putin and implies Trump will be a dictator.
