The cartoon will be back with a new Christmas special to kick off a new nine episode series.
VeggieTales is making a triumphant return to television in late 2019[/tweetit] as the show has been picked up by the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN). Working in conjunction with the Big Idea Content Group, the network is planning to air new episodes that conform to the original format. That means Bible-based stories told by vegetables will be returning, bringing a new generation into the world of the sarcastic vegetables as they explain the stories of the Bible.

Most people are thrilled about this return to form since VeggieTales had only been putting out a few episodes a year and had formally ended in 2015. Now, four years later, the original VeggieTales are coming back to TBN and bringing nine new episodes of character-driven stories to television with the first being a Christmas special. Not only will this be released on television, but there are plans to put it on digital media as well.
The show got its start 25 years ago when Phil Vischer and Mike Nawrocki dreamed up the VeggieTales show. The mixture of Bible lessons, music, and comedy was a hit. The franchise has sold over 75 million videos, 16 million books, and released two major motion pictures.

In the reimagined series, old faces and voices are making a return to the television series. Both Phil Vischer and Mike Nawrocki are coming back to reprise their roles as Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber.

All in all, the series appears to be well underway and set to make a difference in the lives of new and old audience members alike. The highly successful faith-based series is going to reach over a hundred countries through TBN in 14 languages, making it one of the most accessible networks for religious television.
