Pastor Robert Jeffress firmly supports President Trump and his statements on North Korea.
Dr. Robert Jeffress, a pastor from Dallas, and leader of First Baptist Church, a megachurch, has put in his opinion regarding recent political turmoil encircling President Donald J. Trump. Rev. Dr. Jeffress said God has authorized the United States President to kill Kim Jong-Un[/tweetit], the dictator of North Korea. Trump has earlier said that the Asian nation must not make any renewed threats towards America. If they do, “they will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen,” Trump said.

Reverend Jeffress is a known Trump acolyte. In a follow up to the President's threats against North Korea, the supposed man of God said in a statement, “When it comes to how we should deal with evil doers, the Bible, in the book of Romans, is very clear: God has endowed rulers full power to use whatever means necessary — including war — to stop evil. In the case of North Korea, God has given Trump authority to take out Kim Jong-Un.”
The reverend seems to reference Romans 13. The passage details how the Christians should submit themselves to the governing authorities as the latter was appointed by God. It is to be remembered in this context that Jeffress said in 2012 that President Obama must not be voted in to the White House as he is making way for the antichrist's future reign.

Reverend Jeffress was quickly challenged in his assertions by progressive Christian leaders. One of them is Rev. Dr. Chuck Currie, who is Pacific University's Chaplain and Director of Center for peace and Spirituality. In a piece for the Huffington Post, he wrote, “Dr. Jeffress’ reckless statement is an endorsement of a theology of war and in my opinion as a minister in the is in direct contradiction to the teachings of Jesus, the prince of peace.”
