How Megastar Dwayne Johnson’s Christian Faith Has Helped His Success
If you don’t know who Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is, then you are probably living under a rock on Mars. The ex-wrestler turned movie star seems to be in about 20 different movies a year. He does charity events, is known for his affable nature, wakes up in the middle of the night to workout every day, is an entrepreneur, the list goes on and on.

But he was not always this supremely confident figure. He has dealt with being arrested, poverty, depression, and homelessness. So how did it happen?
Johnson gives everything to God. The illustration would be what he claims to be the lowest point in his life. He had devoted ten years of his life to becoming a professional football player. While a senior at the University of Miami, his ascension to the NFL seemed destined. A back injury took those dreams away. Johnson fell into a terrible depression. He put his faith in God, and it helped him transition to the career of his father, a professional wrestler.
Johnson talks openly about his faith all the time. Some have claimed that Hollywood discriminates against Christians. But not Johnson. He has spoken about his faith regularly and never shys around questions about it. He does not practice a particular denomination, circling “other” on social media. He has said he has a “special relationship with God” that allows him to have the steel constitution of spirit necessary for all of his commitments.
What is his advice for others? Follow your faith in God, “so I just have to, you know, put my faith in God and continue to work hard and hopefully good things will happen.”
