Chris Pratt feels speaking publicly about his Christian faith is his calling.

Chris Pratt is a Hollywood actor known for his upfront attitude towards the Christian faith. He even delivered a mini-sermon when he accepted the Generation Award from MTV, insisting that God is real and loves everybody. Pratt is quite sure that Hollywood is not anti-religious[/tweetit]. In an interview with The Associated Press, he said there is a false narrative in circulation that Hollywood is anti-religious or anti-Christian. The Jurassic World movie hero said contrary to popular perception, the culture of Hollywood pushes people to heartily welcome whatever they like and feel authentic.

Pratt likes Hollywood. Its leaning authenticity perfectly matches the actor's own temperament of being authentic to publicly be pro-Jesus and pro-Christian. He said nobody in the industry has ever tried to shame him in front of the world about his faith. In case anybody dissed him behind his back, he said he will not change.

Pratt, well known for his character acting in Parks and Recreation, and as a dependable studio cash generator for playing the lead part in the blockbuster movie franchises Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World, has frequently taken advantage of his award show appearances to promote his religious beliefs. He told the interviewer he is fully aware his message may not be received well by everyone, but he also believes there are people in the world who would love to hear it.

For Pratt, his turn towards Christianity came at a later stage in his life. His family was a Lutheran, and he was raised in the same denomination. During the initial years, he moved from Minnesota to Maui, Hawaii. Things were so bad that his home was a van permanently parked on the sea beach while working as a waiter in a restaurant. In his own words, even though his surroundings were beautiful, he felt lost.

Pratt's life changed when a stranger invited the budding actor to church. The latter told Pratt Jesus had asked him to talk to him and requested him to visit the church. Pratt went and became a fully committed Christian after a couple of days. A month later, he was cast in a quality short film, which led to bigger and meatier acting parts. In 2017, Pratt was seen entering the premises of the Hillsong Church in Los Angeles. He feels that speaking publicly about Christianity is a calling to him and the only way he could repay his success.
