Amy Grant and Michael Smith’s Christmas tour includes a full symphony orchestra.

On August 8, 2017, Michael Smith and Amy Grant confirmed they will perform their annual Christmas tour . Grant and Smith started pairing up on tour for Christmas last year. Both are award-winning Christian artistes who have a passion for music, God, and charity towards society, and the tour is a good fit for their shared interests. This year, the Grant/Smith tour will have a full symphony orchestra and Christian guest musician Jordan Smith.

Amy Grant, who many view as the Queen of Christian pop, started her Christian music career in the late twentieth century, recording hits like “El Shaddai” and “Thy Word“. Grant a multi-platinum artist and Grammy winner switched to contemporary pop. She was able to expand her audience to include younger listeners, which gives her sway over more youthful Christians.

Michael Smith, like Grant, is a multi-platinum artist Smith has been an icon in the Christian music industry since his debut album. With billboard-topping tracks like “Friends“, “Healing Rain“, and “You Won't Let Go“, under his belt, Smith is perhaps one of the most influential Christian singers of this time.

This year, Grant and Smith will be collaborating with an orchestra and Jordan Smith as they travel to 22 cities including Houston, Dallas, Portland and Washington D.C. Jordan Smith is the acclaimed winner of the 2015 edition of the music competition The Voice. After winning the challenge, Jordan Smith went on to record renditions of Christian songs that topped music charts multiple times. Among Jordan Smith’s well-known tracks are “Great is Thy Faithfulness“, and “Hallelujah“, both of which topped the Billboard Christian charts and made it into the Billboard Hot 100 at one point.

Together, Amy Grant, Michael Smith, and Jordan Smith form an influential trio in the Christian music industry. Their tour is going to be a memorable, not to mention influential one. The tour will also help raise funds to go towards supporting disadvantaged children.
