Adult Film Star Apologizes for Filming Porn Inside a Church

Porn star admits that the director knew it was wrong to shoot inside the church; says they underestimated the parishioners’ reaction.

A Catholic church in Holland had to conduct a special cleansing ceremony in the building after a porn shoot was secretly held near the confessionals. The director of the movie and the porn star have both issued an apology for desecrating the sacred space. The cleansing ceremony was held on Sunday with priests sprinkling the entire premises of St. Jozef’s Church with holy water.

Churchgoers who came to know about this reported the matter to the priests, who immediately shut down the place of worship. The church was reopened only after the cleansing ceremony was carried out. The porn star herself, Kim Holland, says that she received numerous letters from furious churchgoers who had recognized that the location of the scenes was the inside of the church.

Holland responded by admitting that the director of the film, Peter Visser, is an atheist. She admitted that both of them knew they shouldn’t have done it and apologized for what had happened. The porn star also said that the director thought the church was a “very ordinary place” and shooting a porn movie there wouldn’t attract much attention. Holland says she and the director were surprised that the incident resulted in such a backlash from people.

Father Jan van Noorwegen, the Vicar of the Church, said that the shoot was not sanctioned by the church. He added that he wasn’t even aware how the crew could have got into the church as the gates of the building are open for only a few hours each day. He was also surprised the crew could manage to complete the shoot with visitors and devotees moving around the Church building.

This was not the first that such a case has come to light. Earlier, parishioners of a 137-year old church in Midlands, UK, were aghast by a raunchy dance by Hungarian porn star, Lyen Parker, which was filmed at the church by a popular porn website. Just as now, then too the parish priest claimed that he wasn’t aware of the shoot. The parish priest, Reverend Paul Tullett, said that even if he was asked for permission, he wouldn’t grant it as Church is a place where people gather to pray and worship.

A spokesperson for the Church of St. Jozef’s expressed the disappointment of the parishioners saying that although we live in modern times, this shoot went too far.
